Welcome to the corner of the web where writers tell what quote sustains them as they work. Visiting today is the lovely PJ (Tricia) Hoover an Austin author, a Texas Sweetheart, a great mom, friend and wife.
Actually, Tricia gave me two quotes.
“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is now.” Chinese Proverb
“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.” J. R. R. Tolkien
The Chinese Proverb reminds Tricia that “I can only change the now and the future, and the best way to make that change is to do something. Anything.” As for the Tolkien quote, Tricia says, “I’m a huge Tolkien fan, so maybe I only have this quote because of that. But really, it reminds me that I am the one in control of deciding how I use my time. If I want to spend it tucked away in my hobbit hole reading books and drawing maps, then that’s my choice. If I want to spend it walking out the door and heading for great adventures, then that’s my choice, too. Both are good choices, and both have a place. And it’s up to me to decide when to do one and when to do the other.”
What Tricia does is write fantastic middle grade fantasy. So far her credits include The Forgotten Worlds Trilogy which include The Emerald Tablet, The Navel of the World, The Necropolis.
But wait. Tricia has huge news this week.
“P.J. Hoover and the Andrea Brown Literary Agency, Inc. are excited to announce the May release of P.J.’s debut young adult novel SOLSTICE, an intensely romantic story with an innovative mythological angle. SOLSTICE is the first front-list novel to be independently published by an Andrea Brown Literary Agency author. SOLSTICE will be available on Amazon, B&N, and Smashwords in May.” If that’s not enough, check out this gorgeous trailer.
Tricia takes her writing quotes to heart, eh?
Thank you so much for hosting me today, Lindsey! You (and your blog) are amazing!
Right back atcha, girl.
Great quotes. It’s always hard to narrow it down. And I’? Excited for PJ’s good news.
