Quotable Tuesday-Every Writing Colleague Ever

“Butt in Chair”

Sometimes, there is no magic. You must sit. You must put your butt in the chair and write. That’s all.  That’s what I had to do this morning. I had to sit in the middle of a story revision and muscle my way through it. If you are a writer, that’s what you do. You work through the dull hours when the words plop like sticky batter on the page. It does get better. It always gets better but you have to have your butt in the chair.
